PSA: What is Emo?

People forget that time has passed since 1990 and the idea of "emo" has grown into a genre, a subculture, and a stereotype all at the same time. These three variations have overlap, but they are all different in the grand scheme of things. There is no singular, rigid definition of "emo" music and no one has to be burned at the stake for having differing ideas.
